Exporting from Wavebid

Wavebid Universal Exports can be used to download the catalog file and photos so they can be stored or manually uploaded to a service.

There is no API integration for Wavebid to LiveAuctioneers.

βš™ Auction Settings

Auctions must be set to "Universal" prior to performing a universal export.

  1. Navigate to the auction from the Dashboard, then select Auction > Edit Settings.
  2. In the Auction Attributes tab, select LiveAuctioneers from the Auction Software drop-down menu.
  3. Click the Disk icon in the top right corner of the page to save.

πŸ“ƒ Creating Export Files

  1. Navigate to the appropriate auction from the Dashboard, then select Auction > Export Auction.
  2. Set the Lot Options:
    • All Lots: This will export all of the lots currently in the auction. (This is the default.)
  3. Set the Catalog Options:
    • Generate Catalog: Whether to create a comma-separated values (.CSV) file containing the lot attributes and descriptions. (This is the default.) If this option is disabled, Wavebid will save the file in text (.txt) file format.
      • Data Mapping: Select what column order to use when exporting the CSV file. Be sure this is set to β€œLive Auctioneers 2020”
      • Save as .CSV: Select which file extension to use. If this option is disabled, Wavebid will save the file in text (.txt) file format. If the option is enabled, Wavebid will save the file in a comma-separated values file format (this is the default).
      • Remove HTML: Wavebid will always include any HTML code entered in the lot Description or Additional Description fields. Enabling this option will strip out all of that code, leaving only plain text with HTML entities being rendered as their characters. (The default is for this option to be disabled.)
  4. Set the Photo Options:
    • Zip Photos: Will create a ZIP file containing all of the photos from the auction, except for photos labeled as barcodes. (This is the default.)
      • Add Watermark: Will enable watermark text for the photos. (The default is for this option to be disabled.) Be sure that this option is disabled when exporting images.
      • New Photos Only: Will only include photos that have been uploaded or manipulated since the last export. If no exports have been created for the auction, Wavebid will include all of the photos. As a general rule, for LiveAuctioneers be sure that all photos are sent.
      • Thumbnails: Will create thumbnail versions of the photos using the pixel dimensions selected in the drop-down menu. (The default is for this option is None.)
  5. Once configuration is complete, review the current summary and click the Export Auction button.
  6. A confirmation window will appear. Click the Ok button. Wavebid servers will begin the export process. Catalogs with a large number of photos may take up to an hour to export.

⬇ Downloading your files

When the export is complete, download the files.

Newly created files will appear on the right side of the Export Auction page:

  • Previous Catalogs: Results in a CSV (comma-separated values) file in plain text that can opened with spreadsheet software. Download the file by clicking on the timestamp link.
  • Previous Photos: Results in a ZIP file containing all of the photos for the auction's lots except for photos labeled as barcodes. Download the photo ZIP file by clicking on the timestamp link.

Files are named according to the date and time the export server was finished creating the file. There is no limit to the number of export files that can be created.
