Credit & Debit Card Authorization

LiveAuctioneers wants to help ensure that bidders have valid payment methods on file. So when a bidder creates an account or registers for an auction on LiveAuctioneers, we contact the issuing bank to confirm the validity of the payment method associated with their account. This is not an actual charge. These authorizations occur on a regular cadence following account creation to consistently ensure card validity.

The authorization will be shown during the Bidder Approval process and will be represented by the green card icon under Payments. If that icon is not present then the card on file for that bidder is not valid, or the bidder is new or inactive (have not bid in over 180 days) meaning they are not required to have a card on file to submit their first bid.

With this release, auction house partners should expect to see even greater success in Autopay captures, and a higher rate of qualified bidders with cards on file. As a reminder, credit card (including international) and eCheck/ACH payments captured through LivePayments are covered by fraudulent chargeback and reversal insurance, further protecting your funds from risk.
