Auctioneer Profile Best Practices

  • Provide at least 2-3 paragraphs that describe your business. Use welcoming language and keywords you think bidders use when looking for online auctions.

  • Tell your story by filling any gaps that potential bidders may have about your business. When it comes to telling a story about your company, try to answer these questions:

    • When was the business established?

    • What are the company’s values?

    • What’s the business specialty?

  • Make the auctioneer description easy to scan in order to capture bidders’ attention and help them find the information they need.

    • Make sure your descriptions are scannable by including bullet points and/ or short paragraphs.

    • Avoid using capital letters and special characters.

  • Optimize your auctioneer profile to tell search engines all about your business and the kind of items you sell. Remember to think like a bidder and ask yourself what words people are likely to use when looking for your kind of items.
