LiveAuctioneers Seller Policies

LiveAuctioneers’ policies are meant to foster a safe, fair, and enjoyable experience for sellers and bidders alike.

As such, auctioneers are responsible for reviewing, understanding, and adhering to all LiveAuctioneers’ policies.

Please be aware of and follow the protocol outlined below. Failure to comply with these policies may result in the revoking of your selling privileges and/or permanent suspension of your account. LiveAuctioneers may amend, modify, add or remove any of these rules at any time and from time to time. Please be sure you are clear on the above policies and feel free to check back often before moving forward with listing any questionable or restricted items.

A seller may not list more than one auction within a single published catalog on LiveAuctioneers.

A seller should not attempt to run an auction for longer than the allowable 13-hour duration. Failure to do so will cause the auction’s removal from the LiveAuctioneers website.

Shill or false bidding is a serious crime punishable by law which can result in revocation of your auctioneer’s license and dismissal from LiveAuctioneers. Sellers are not permitted to place any shill or false bids within their sales. In an effort to eliminate such practices from our platform, our team diligently investigates any reports of suspicious bidding activity, reviewing and keeping a record of sale transcripts and other pertinent documentation, to substantiate or invalidate the claim.

Do not abuse or improperly use the dispute system on LiveAuctioneers. You should not under any circumstance use the dispute system to illegitimately obtain refunds or credits on LiveAuctioneers fees. Any such misuse of the dispute system will lead to further review of your account. Such practices may ultimately lead to the suspension of your selling privileges.

All lots should be as described. Misrepresentation or purposeful omission of an item’s characteristics is a serious offense that will be followed by further investigation and recourse.

Any defects, wear, alterations, or other such pertinent information should be stated in a clear and prominent manner within the lot listing’s description or condition section.

There will be no inflated or otherwise generic lot estimates in a LiveAuctioneers catalog.

Filler condition reports, blank “coming soon”, terms & conditions, advertisements, or other such placeholder lots are not permitted on our platform.

LiveAuctioneers' partners are not allowed to use images or text they did not create themselves to describe their lot listings. Exceptions to this policy would be if they are authorized to do so by the owner of such material, its agent, or the law. Furthermore, a seller may not use images or information posted by another seller on the LiveAuctioneers platform.

Any attempt at communication from a member of the LiveAuctioneers team should be responded to in a timely manner.

Please do not spam or mass advertise to LiveAuctioneers bidders without their prior consent. Additionally, any messages from your bidders must be addressed promptly and courteously. Communication should be kept professional and courteous. If a situation escalates please inform LiveAuctioneers management and we’d be happy to provide assistance.

Any URLs featured in a sale’s catalog must only pertain to the selling, shipping, or other logistical details of the transaction. Any content pointing buyers to purchase items on other sites outside of LiveAuctioneers will be removed without notice.

Any images must feature the actual item being sold. The photograph must accurately represent the item leaving very little to be desired regarding the item’s nature and condition. The use of stock images is not allowed on the LiveAuctioneers platform.

The use of logos/watermarks/inset on images within an auction is prohibited. Such images may be pulled in violation of LiveAuctioneers' policy.

Your LiveAuctioneers premium may not be above the allowable increase of 5% on top of your in-house charge. Any changes to your Buyer’s Premium must be accompanied by proof of such change. This may come in the form of a link to your business website or a marketing material featuring the sale’s updated Buyer’s Premium. You may submit proof of the update to support@liveauctioneers.com.

LiveAuctioneers invoices must be paid for in full within a timely manner. Any outstanding account balances must be settled with our finance department so as to prevent further action taken against you and your LiveAuctioneers account. They may be reached at finance@liveauctioneers.com.
