This article contains the following sections:
Preparing to Upload
Prior to uploading images via FTP, you will need to download FileZilla and install it on your computer. You can download FileZilla here: https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client
Connecting to LiveAuctioneers' Servers
Once FileZilla has been downloaded and opened, you will need to set up a connection with LiveAuctioneers’ servers.
- Open the FileZilla program and go to File > Site Manager > New Site.
-
Give your connection a name (LiveAuctioneers, for example) and add the following information:
Host: client_ftp.liveauctioneers.com
Protocol: FTP - File Transfer Protocol
Encryption: Use explicit FTP over TLS if available
Logon Type: Normal
User: Use your LiveAuctioneers username
Password: Use your LiveAuctioneers password - Click Connect.
When you have connected successfully, the top section of the screen should display "Status: Directory listing of “/” successful".
Uploading Images
Once you've connected to LiveAuctioneers' servers, you can begin the upload process.
The FileZilla screen is divided into two sections:
- Local Site (left): These are files on your computer.
- Remote Site (right): This is the LiveAuctioneers server. We can access whatever you put here.
Start the transfer by finding the file on your computer (local site), then drag-and-dropping it into the LiveAuctioneers server (remote site). You will see the transfer take place at the bottom section of the screen.
Important: You MUST confirm the number of images matches exactly between FileZilla and the Seller Dashboard. You can do so under Upload/Images > Pending tab under "Choose Folder with Images to Process".
- Large uploads may take up to 30 minutes; bigger uploads may take up to 1 hour. Please be patient and keep refreshing your Seller Dashboard every few minutes until the files are all uploaded.
Once the files are uploaded correctly, click on Process on the corresponding images/folder. This can take several minutes. Once the images have been processed, confirm they have all been uploaded correctly before moving on with your catalog.
Note: Images that have been uploaded but not processed will become read-only after about a week, at which point they can no longer be used for catalog building. If your images aren’t being processed, please re-upload them to ensure they’re usable. We recommend uploading your images within a day or two of when you plan to process them into your catalog to avoid any issues with file accessibility.
Once you upload your photos, send an email to support@liveauctioneers.com with the subject line "Auction House Name] - Image upload complete".
If you're having trouble with the FTP image transfer, please contact the Seller Support team for assistance.
