Bidder Management
Directing Bidders Questions Regarding Timed+ Auctions
You can direct your bidders to our knowledge base to learn more about your Timed+ auctions here, or they can can contact our Bidder Support team.
Approving Bidders
Bidders will need to be managed from the respective platforms through which they’ve registered and bid. Once the auction has started, only approved bidders will be able to place bids. On LiveAuctioneers, approved bidders can place bids from the following:
- Catalog page (web browser only)
- Lot page (web browser and app)
- My Items page (web browser and app)
While you are able to manually approve your bidders, we do encourage sellers to use auto-approval rules found in your LiveAuctioneers console in your automation settings under the ‘Bidder’ tab.
Bidder Suspensions
What happens when a bidder becomes suspended on LiveAuctioneers & AuctionMobility during a Timed+ auction?
On LiveAuctioneers, a bidder is suspended after receiving two or more disputes from two different auctions. A bidder may also be suspended by internal staff due to fraudulent activity. When a bidder is suspended their auction registration status is changed to suspended and reflected globally. Once suspended, their bids are automatically removed. If the bidder restores their account and it is in good standing, they will have to leave their bids again. Please note, bids are not automatically restored. In order to get reapproved a bidder has to: resolve all active disputes and contact support. Support will have their account reviewed and verified for possible reinstatement if the account was suspended due to fraudulent behavior.
On AuctionMobility, an auctioneer determines what triggers a bidder suspension and how a bidder would get reapproved/unsuspended. Please note when an auctioneer blacklists a user preventing future auction registrations, any bids already placed on timed lots at the time of the blacklist are still honored.
Bidders Seeing an Error Message on LiveAuctioneers
During a Timed+ auction a bidder will see an error message when the auctioneer hasn't published on both LiveAuctioneers and AuctionMobility. In the event an auctioneer forgets to publish on LiveAuctioneers, a LiveAuctioneers bidder will see an error message when they place a bid on a lot that has already received bids from an AuctionMobility bidder. The error message is triggered because the bids from both platforms haven't synced yet so the LiveAuctioneers bidder is unknowingly placing a bid below the current asking price. Once the Timed+ sale has been published on LiveAuctioneers, the bids will sync and the page will automatically refresh. Once refreshed, bidders will see bids synced and the correct asking price.

Bid Retractions
Each platform allows the auction house to remove a bidder’s approval status which will automatically retract all their bids from the sale;
On AuctionMobility, the auction house can remove a bidder’s bid on a certain lot;
On LiveAuctioneers, bidders can retract bids up until 24 hours prior to the lot’s estimated end time.
Absentee/Max Bids
Bidders can place absentee bids/max bids. Please be advised sellers are only able to view max bids from the AuctionMobility admin console and not on the LiveAuctioneers admin console.
