What is Cross-Listing to EstateSales.NET?
Built to maximize your hammer prices, cross-listing is a multi-marketplace integration from Auction Technology Group (ATG) that allows you to seamlessly list your auction on multiple ATG platforms.
When you list your auction on LiveAuctioneers, you can choose to cross-list your sale to our sister site EstateSales.NET. With 4.4 million monthly visits, EstateSales.NET is America’s leading site for estate sales - offering a new audience of potential buyers for your auctions.
Shoppers who discover your auction on EstateSales.NET will be directed back to your catalog and lot pages on LiveAuctioneers, where they can register and bid.
Getting Started
Prior to creating a cross-listed auction, you will need to onboard to atgXL and have access enabled on your account. Contact your Client Success Manager about signing up for atgXL, if you have not done so already.
- Catalogs published on LiveAuctioneers prior to activation cannot be retroactively cross-listed onto EstateSales.NET.
Please note, your primary company phone number is required for cross-listing auctions. This phone number can be entered on your Auctioneer Details page. Steps on doing so can be found here.
If you are planning on also cross-listing your auction from LiveAuctioneers to The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo, please review this help article to ensure your auction is set up correctly.
Create Your Cross-Listed Timed Auction
A cross-listed auction can be created in the same way as any other auction on LiveAuctioneers. Full instructions on creating an event can be found here. A list of additional items to consider while creating a Timed cross-listed event can be found below.
Auction Title
For auctions being cross-listed from LiveAuctioneers to EstateSales.NET, the Auction Title field cannot contain any special characters.
Enable Cross-Listing
Within the Cross-Listing section, select EstateSales.NET. This is where the auction will be pushed to once it has been created in the LiveAuctioneers Seller Dashboard.
Auctions being cross-listed from LiveAuctioneers to EstateSales.NET can also be cross-listed to The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo, if it has been enabled on your account. If you decide to do so, please review this help article to ensure your auction is set up correctly.
- For any sales you choose not to cross-list, uncheck the box next to EstateSales.NET.
Increment Tables for Cross-Listed Timed Auctions
While bidding does not take place on EstateSales.NET, cross-listed auctions are still required to use Increment Tables that follow specific guidelines:
- The increment table can have a maximum of 40 increment steps.
- The increment table cannot use 2/5/8 intervals.
- The increment value on one step cannot be smaller than the value on the preceding step.
-
In the example below, the increment value in the final step cannot be $2- it must be $5 or greater.
$0 > $10 $2 $10 > $20 $5 $20 > $30 $2
-
- Increments must be a factor of the lower bound increment range (i.e. if the lower increment range were to be divided by the increment, it would produce a whole number).
- Ex. $400 > $700 with an increment of $20 is an accepted increment as 400 is divisible by 20.
- Ex. $400 > $700 with an increment of $30 is not acceptable as 400 isn't divisible by 30.
If your increment table does not match these requirements, you will receive an error when attempting to publish your auction.
Below is an example of a supported increment table for a cross-listed sale:
Which Fields Will Sync?
The following auction-level fields will sync to EstateSales.NET:
- Auction Title (cannot contains special characters)
- Sale Date
- Auction Location
- Terms & Conditions
- Auction Description
- Catalog URL
Making Edits
All sale edits must be made from your Seller Dashboard in LiveAuctioneers. Edits cannot be made directly in EstateSales.NET to cross-listed sales.
Edits can be made to any of the fields that sync to EstateSales.NET, however you will not be able to make any edits to the Terms & Conditions after bidders start to register for your auction.
Build or Import Your Catalog
Lots and images for a cross-listed catalog can be imported/created in the same way as any other auction on LiveAuctioneers. Full instructions on creating a catalog can be found here. A list of additional items to consider while creating a Timed cross-listed catalog can be found below.
Please note, your catalog must contain at least 50 lots, and no more than 1,250 lots.
Lot Numbers
For auctions being cross-listed from LiveAuctioneers to EstateSales.NET, Lot Numbers cannot:
- Be more than 5 characters in length
- Contain more than one letter (ex. 7BR and 7CF)
- Use repeated sequences (ex. 235C and 235D).
Set Prices and Reserves
While bidding does not take place on EstateSales.NET, cross-listed auctions are still required to use prices that follow their selected Increment Table.
As such, Starting Prices and Reserves will be rounded up to the next valid increments if they are not on-increment. A Starting Price equal to your first valid increment will be automatically created if one is not specified.
Which Fields Will Sync?
The following lot-level fields will sync to EstateSales.NET:
- Lot Photo (only the first image for each lot will appear on EstateSales.NET)
- Lot Title
- Lot URL
Images can take time to export and sync to your additional marketplaces, depending on size of catalog.
Proof & Publish Your Auction
Submit Your Payment
Once you've selected your Cover Lots and any other marketing, move onto the Payment tab to pay for your listing. The Payment tab is where you pay for the listing fee and any marketing you've purchased for the auction. Either complete the payment form on this page or email ar@auctiontechnologygroup.com with the receipt from the wire transfer, or other accepted payment option.
- Your Client Success Manager will confirm listing fees and commissions for cross-listing on EstateSales.NET ahead of the auction.
Proof & Publish
Once you've submitted payment for your auction setup, you will be taken to the Proof tab. Here you should review your Auction Details and also ensure that your Buyer's Premium, Terms & Conditions, and Policies are accurate since these cannot be changed once your sale is published. More on proofing and publishing can be found here.
Upon publishing, your sale will be available on LiveAuctioneers and cross-listed to EstateSales.NET. On EstateSales.NET, your sale and lot images will link back to your corresponding catalog and lots on LiveAuctioneers, where visitors can register and bid.
- Once an auction's start time has passed, event details should not be edited. If edits/adjustments must be made after the auction start time, please contact Seller Support. We recommend reducing the number of required edits by fully proofing the auction before publishing.
During the Auction
All bid and bidder management will be done in LiveAuctioneers as usual. More information about bidder management can be found here.
We recommend that if you require a bid to be retracted/removed during a cross-listed Timed auction that you contact Seller Support.
- Should you have any questions concerning removing bids, please contact support at:
- Email: support@liveauctioneers.com
- Phone: +1 (888) 600-2437. EXTs: 2, 2
Post-Auction
Closing your auction, generating invoices, viewing reports, etc. will all be done in LiveAuctioneers as usual.
It is important that you only close your auction once it is finished. Do not attempt to close the auction midway through or between selling days (where your sale covers more than one day).
- More details regarding the End of Auction Report (EOA) report can be found here.
- Bidders should be invoiced via LivePayments. More details on invoicing can be found here.
Event Fees & Billing
Client Commissions
Listing fees and commissions can be found in the LiveAuctioneers rate card - your Client Success Manager will confirm listing fees and commissions with you ahead of the auction.
Billing
Billing will be handled separately for LiveAuctioneers and EstateSales.NET. You will likely receive two invoices (one from LiveAuctioneers, one from EstateSales.NET) and they will both be in your native currency ($ for US LiveAuctioneers clients).
