Key Considerations
Prior to creating a cross-listed auction, you will need to onboard to atgXL and have access enabled on your account. Contact your Client Success Manager about signing up for atgXL, if you have not done so already.
There are some key items to consider prior to creating and cross-listing your LiveAuctioneers auction:
| Item | Consideration |
|---|---|
| LivePayments |
LivePayments is not available on The Saleroom or Lot-tissimo, nor should it be used to charge The Saleroom or Lot-tissimo bidders. LivePayments can only be used to charge LiveAuctioneers bidders. Plug'n Pay is available on GAP Toolbox. An e-Commerce merchant account is required, please contact Seller Support to assist with getting set up. |
| Auction Type | Only Timed+ auctions can be cross-listed from LiveAuctioneers to The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo. Learn more about Timed+ auctions here. |
| Auction and Catalog Edits |
Edits should be made primarily in LiveAuctioneers, these changes (for the most part) will automatically sync with GAP Toolbox (The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo). There are some features that are not available on a cross-listed LiveAuctioneers Timed+ auction. The table below provides more details. We recommend reducing the number of required edits by fully proofing the auction before publishing. |
| Auction Start Time |
The auction Start Time needs to be at least one hour in the future when publishing your auction in LiveAuctioneers. This will give time to go into GAP Toolbox and confirm all auction options before bidding begins. Images can take time to export and sync to your additional marketplaces- up to several hours depending on size of catalog. Please consider this when setting the auction Start Time. Once an auction's start time has passed, event details cannot be edited. If edits must be made after the auction start time, please contact Seller Support. |
| Increment Tables | Increment tables in LiveAuctioneers and GAP Toolbox must match exactly. The Timed+ auction increments must be defined in LiveAuctioneers and will sync to GAP Toolbox during auction creation. See below for more details. |
| Internet Surcharge | You will need to confirm that the Internet Surcharge for the auction is set to 0% (not blank or NULL) in GAP Toolbox. If it is not, contact Seller Support to have it updated. |
Increment Tables for Cross-Listed Timed+ Auctions
- The increment table can have a maximum of 40 increment steps.
- The increment table cannot use 2/5/8 intervals.
- The increment value on one step cannot be smaller than the value on the preceding step.
-
In the example below, the increment value in the final step cannot be $2- it must be $5 or greater.
$0 > $10 $2 $10 > $20 $5 $20 > $30 $2
-
- Increments must be a factor of the lower bound increment range (i.e. if the lower increment range were to be divided by the increment, it would produce a whole number).
- Ex. $400 > $700 with an increment of $20 is an accepted increment as 400 is divisible by 20.
- Ex. $400 > $700 with an increment of $30 is not acceptable as 400 isn't divisible by 30.
If your increment table does not match these requirements, you will receive an error when attempting to publish your auction.
Below is an example of a supported increment table for a cross-listed sale:
Company Phone Number
Your primary company phone number is required for cross-listing auctions. This phone number can be entered on your Auctioneer Details page. Steps on doing so can be found here.
Create Your Cross-Listed Timed+ Auction
A cross-listed auction can be created in the same way as any other auction on LiveAuctioneers. Full instructions on creating an event can be found here. A list of additional items to consider while creating a Timed+ cross-listed event can be found below.
Select a Price Plan
Select a Timed+ price plan. Only Timed+ auctions can be cross-listed. If you do not select a Timed+ plan, the auction will not cross-list properly and you will need to contact Seller Support to have the plan changed.
Auction Title
For auctions being cross-listed from LiveAuctioneers to The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo, the Auction Title field cannot contain any special characters.
Enable Cross-Listing
Within the Cross-Listing section, select The Saleroom and/or GAP LT (Lot-tissimo). This is where the auction will be pushed to once it has been created in the LiveAuctioneers Seller Dashboard.
- These options will not appear unless you have selected a Timed+ price plan.
Auctions being cross-listed from LiveAuctioneers to The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo can also be cross-listed to EstateSales.NET, if it has been enabled on your account.
Category
Select the category that best describes your sale. This selection will be automatically shared with GAP Toolbox (The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo).
Lot-level categorization in GAP Toolbox will be handled by ATG’s auto-categorization tool. This tool reviews the uploaded lot’s title, details and primary category to determine which subcategory it best falls into.
Auction Location
Enter the physical location where the auction is taking place. If your auction is online-only, enter your registered business address here.
For auctions being cross-listed from outside the US or Canada, the state must be entered as a two-letter abbreviation.
Auction Start Time
- The auction Start Time needs to be at least two hours in the future when publishing your auction in LiveAuctioneers. This will give time to go into GAP Toolbox and confirm all auction options before bidding begins.
- Once an auction's Start Time has passed, event details cannot be edited. If edits/adjustments must be made after the auction start time, please contact LiveAuctioneers Seller Support.
Auction Clerk Options
Select the Timed+ Auction (Automated Clerk) option.
Payment Options
- LivePayments must be enabled for cross-listed auctions on LiveAuctioneers, but will not work on The Saleroom or Lot-tissimo, nor should it be used to invoice or charge your The Saleroom or Lot-tissimo bidders.
- Accepted cards and payment options selected in LiveAuctioneers will not sync from LiveAuctioneers to GAP Toolbox. When your GAP Toolbox account is created, a set of default settings will be applied to your auctions on The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo for bidder registration and verification. These accepted cards are set at the account level and cannot be changed per event. Please contact Seller Support if you wish to adjust the accepted cards from the defaults.

In-House Buyer’s Premium
In-house Buyer’s Premium is not applicable for cross-listed Timed+ auctions and will not sync from LiveAuctioneers to The Saleroom or Lot-tissimo.
Buyer's Premium
The auction-level Buyer’s Premium does sync from LiveAuctioneers to GAP Toolbox. It should be set as usual on LiveAuctioneers and set in GAP Toolbox (for The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo) ahead of the auction start time.
- Guidelines for setting the Buyer's Premium can be found here. If you have any questions about selecting a Buyer's Premium, or want to adjust the value, please contact LiveAuctioneers Seller Support.
Tiered buyer’s premiums are not support on Timed+ auctions cross-listed from LiveAuctioneers to The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo.
Terms and Conditions
- Payments: This field will sync to GAP Toolbox. LivePayments is the required payment solution on LiveAuctioneers, but it cannot be used for/by your The Saleroom or Lot-tissimo bidders. As such, the payment terms displayed on your The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo auction should consider this.
- Shipping and Terms & Conditions: These fields will automatically sync from LiveAuctioneers to GAP Toolbox.
- Accepted cards, additional payment options, and invoice messaging can be set and managed in GAP Toolbox for your The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo auction. These details will not sync back to LiveAuctioneers, they will only apply to your The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo auction.
Build or Import Your Catalog
Lots and images for a cross-listed catalog can be imported/created in the same way as any other auction on LiveAuctioneers. Full instructions on creating a catalog can be found here. A list of additional items to consider while creating a Timed+ cross-listed catalog can be found below.
Lot Requirements
LiveAuctioneers requires a minimum of 50 lots and no more than 1250 lots. Auctions with more than 1250 lots may need to be split into multiple catalogs. Each of the lot fields below are required in order for the cross-listed auction to publish correctly:
- Lot Number (cannot start with a letter)
- Title
- Description
- Low Estimate
- High Estimate
- Start Price
- At least one photo per lot
Images can take time to export and sync to your additional marketplaces, depending on size of catalog.
Set Prices and Reserves
For cross-listed Timed+ auctions, Starting Prices and Reserves will be rounded up to the next valid increments if they are not on-increment. This is to ensure full alignment between LiveAuctioneers and The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo.
A Starting Price equal to your first valid increment will be automatically created if one is not specified.
Choose Your Cover Lots
Choose up to three items to feature on LiveAuctioneers as cover images as usual. The selection of these items will not sync with GAP Toolbox. A “Hero image” should be selected/uploaded in GAP Toolbox to display on the auction on The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo. If no hero image is selected in GAP Toolbox, the first image of Lot 1 will be automatically used.

LiveAuctioneers offers cost-effective ad campaigns fit for every budget. Choose from a variety of email, web, mobile and content products designed to support your sales strategy.

Proof & Publish Your Auction
Submit Your Payment
Once you've selected your Cover Lots and any other marketing, move onto the Payment tab to pay for your listing. The Payment tab is where you pay for the listing fee and any marketing you've purchased for the auction. Either complete the payment form on this page or email ar@auctiontechnologygroup.com with the receipt from the wire transfer, or other accepted payment option.
- Your Client Success Manager will confirm listing fees and commissions for cross-listing on The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo ahead of the auction.
Proof & Publish
Once you've submitted payment for your auction setup, you will be taken to the Proof tab. Here you should review your Auction Details and also ensure that your Buyer's Premium, Terms & Conditions, and Policies are accurate since these cannot be changed once your sale is published. More on proofing and publishing can be found here.
Once the auction has been proofed and published on LiveAuctioneers it will create and appear in GAP Toolbox.
The UK Seller Support team will approve the auction before it appears on The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo. Once the auction is approved in GAP Toolbox, it will be accessible to bidders.
- Once an auction's start time has passed, event details should not be edited. If edits/adjustments must be made after the auction start time, please contact Seller Support.
Internet Surcharge
Once published, you will need to ensure that the Internet Surcharge for the auction is set to 0% (not blank or NULL) in GAP Toolbox. If it is not, contact Seller Support to have it updated.
Auction Edits
Edits to auction or lot information must only be undertaken in LiveAuctioneers and not directly in GAP Toolbox.
- We recommend reducing the number of required edits by fully proofing the auction before publishing.
Bidder Management
Bidder management is handled separately on the relevant marketplace tools.
- LiveAuctioneers bidder management: This should be handled in the same way you would normally in LiveAuctioneers. More details here.
- The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo bidder management: This should be handled in GAP Toolbox for The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo bidders. More details here.
Registered Bidders
View, sort, and filter the list of bidders who have registered for your auction in each respective marketplace.
- Registered LiveAuctioneers Bidders: Use the bidder list view to get a quick overview of bidders within each category and quickly evaluate which bidders need extra scrutiny. Learn more about reviewing bidders in LiveAuctioneers here.
- Registered The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo Bidders: Locate your auction in GAP Toolbox and select Bidders in the left-hand navigation panel, the Current View should be set to All. Learn more about reviewing bidders in GAP Toolbox here.
Approving Bidders
Accepting, declining, or reporting pending bidders is handled in each respective marketplace. It is the responsibility of the auctioneer to review all online registrants and manage the approval of each online bidder.
- Automatic Approval Rules on LiveAuctioneers: Use these rules in combination to automatically approve bidders who meet LiveAuctioneers’ and your criteria to take the majority of approvals work off your plate. Auto-approval rules set in LiveAuctioneers do not sync to GAP Toolbox. Learn more about auto-approval here.
- Approving The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo bidders: Registration details can be viewed on the Bidders screen of your auction. Here you’ll find the important information relating to each individual bidder based on their registration status and previous activity on ATG Marketplaces. Learn more about approving/declining bidders here.
Pending Bidders
Bidders on The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo who are not automatically approved will be registered as Pending bidders awaiting your approval. You must regularly review and approve/decline your Pending bidders.
Bid Management
We recommend that if you require a bid to be retracted/removed during a cross-listed Timed+ auction that you contact Seller Support.
- Should you have any questions concerning removing bids, please contact support at:
- Email: support@liveauctioneers.com
- Phone: +1 (888) 600-2437. EXTs: 2, 2
Close Your Auction
It is important that you only close your auction once it is finished. Do not attempt to close the auction midway through or between selling days (where your sale covers more than one day).
- Closing the auction on LiveAuctioneers: Timed+ cross-listed auctions automatically close on LiveAuctioneers. Once closed, auction results will need to be submitted.
The auction on The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo will close automatically following the auction close on LiveAuctioneers.

Reports on the LiveAuctioneers dashboard will only show full buyer details for LiveAuctioneers bidders.

- LiveAuctioneers bidders should be invoiced in LiveAuctioneers via LivePayments. More details on invoicing can be found here.
Details on exporting your The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo winners from GAP Toolbox can be found here.
- LiveAuctioneers bidders will be represented in GAP Toolbox as “LA xxxxxxxx” and will need to be removed from the Winning Bidder export before invoicing.
Event Fees & Billing
Client Commissions
Listing fees and commissions can be found in the LiveAuctioneers rate card - your Client Success Manager will confirm listing fees and commissions with you ahead of the auction.
Billing
Billing will be handled separately for LiveAuctioneers and The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo. You will likely receive two invoices (one from LiveAuctioneers, one from The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo) and they will both be in your native currency ($ for US LiveAuctioneers clients).
Feature Availability
The table below describes the features that are not available or don't fully sync when cross-listing an auction from LiveAuctioneers to The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo.
It also describes the auction and lot fields that don’t automatically sync or align from LiveAuctioneers to The Saleroom and/or Lot-tissimo
- Enabling these features where they are not available will result in disruption to your cross-listed Timed+ auction and in some cases can only be remedied by shutting down the entire auction on all marketplaces.
