A seller can specify free ($0) or a flat-rate domestic shipping (US only) during catalog setup:

By filling a corresponding column in the batch lot upload

or by filling a dedicated field in a single lot upload
Any number entered in these fields will be the number used for the shipping cost displayed to the bidder
Estimates
Bidders can see flat-rate shipping on the Lot Details page

Flat-Rate is US only:
Domestic Bidders see Flat-rate if they are logged out or logged in and have a US address
International Bidders see the classic LiveShip estimator
Flat-rate is shown regardless of whether the item has dimensions or if we have a quote
Post Sale Edit Ability
Sellers can edit the label and control the flat-rate on the invoice
With the flat rate check box clicked, you are able to write in the price you would like your buyer to pay for shipping once the invoice is generated

Change flat rate amount, e.g. the invoice has multiple lots and the combined shipping cost is cheaper than the sum of flat rates
Ex: Lots 1 and 2 are $10 flat rate each, but combined, you want to charge only $10. Simply edit the Buyer Face Cost to $10
If Shipping is paid:
The seller cannot remove flat-rate flag or change the amount paid by the buyer

The seller can edit the label by changing the packaging:
The system will get a new quote, if any, and update the actual costIf the new actual cost is lower than the old one → the auction house will be credited (reimbursed) for the difference - see an example below
If the new actual cost is lower than the old one → the auction house will be debited for the difference
Credit/debit is applied only after the label is generated to accommodate cases when a seller changes the label multiple times
Example:
The invoice has free shipping ($0) buyer-facing cost, and was paid
The invoice has 2 jewelry pieces, and the system suggested 10x10x10'' box, resulting in the actual cost of $20
The seller actually ships such items in FedEx Envelope, which costs just $10
If the seller updates the packaging on the paid invoice before generating the label, they will be credited (reimbursed) for $10
